For patient positioning
Hospital Direct’s Roma™ Mattress Cover makes patient repositioning easier for both staff and patients.
Constantly pulling slide sheets in and out of bedding is a hassle. That’s why many care organisations now use the Roma™ Mattress Cover to reposition patients instead. Caregivers can use the mattress cover to adjust a patient’s position without disturbing them – all while reducing the risk of staff injury. In fact, medical staff love the mattress cover almost as much as patients.
You can easily slip the waterproof mattress cover over the mattress, ensuring a perfect fit. We stock the mattress covers in four sizes to fit mattresses of various sizes. What’s more, the Roma™ Mattress Cover is thinner than a bed sheet, meaning it doesn’t affect any pressure-reducing qualities the mattress may offer.
Once in place, you can place a bed sheet on top of the cover. Then, when you help a patient sit up in bed, they won’t slip back down. Simply untuck the bed sheet and reposition the patient using the mattress cover. Alternatively, you can unroll a flat slide sheet between the layers to reposition the patient. The mattress cover only becomes fully slippery when you introduce a flat sheet for turning or re-positioning manoeuvres.
Choose between washable mattress covers (sold individually) or patient-specific mattress covers (available in packs of 10). Alternatively, we now also stock Roma™ Packs for dynamic mattresses, too. These packs combine a Roma™ Mattress Cover with a flat slide sheet so you have everything you need for your patients – whether in hospital or at home.
If you need more advice about the mattress cover, please get in touch with our Technical Team for more information. We will be delighted to help.
