slide sheets / glide sheets
Hospital Direct’s Turning Slide Sheets make it easier to perform patient turning and lateral transfer manoeuvres.
Thanks to the combination of advanced Slideezi® fabric and our specially designed weave and construction, carers can now slide patients into new positions without straining themselves. What’s more, the sheets’ ease of slide allows fewer members of staff to reposition a patient, meaning organisations can sometimes reduce staffing requirements (provided they carry out a risk assessment). As a result, these revolutionary Turning Slide Sheets offer excellent clinical outcomes and improve staff safety handling.
We manufacture our pioneering glide sheets in our Shropshire premises, a central hub for deliveries across the UK. The glide sheets are constructed slightly differently from tubular glide sheets and are generally longer as they are sewn down the long edge and open along the short edge. We have independently tested the sheets to 300kg to ensure absolute strength and versatility.
The slide sheets are widely used in organisations that require patient transfers and/or turning manoeuvres, such as surgical wards, oncology wards, elderly-care wards and care homes. The sheets are also ideal for organisations where staff perform lateral patient transfers, such as A&E, operating theatres and radiology units.
The washable Turning Slide Sheets are available in four sizes, and bespoke sizes are available on request. Getting a quote takes just moments.
Alternatively, we also stock disposable Turning Slide Sheets.
