When the patient needs positioning, the Operoll is partially or fully inflated using compressed air, which will lift the patient into the desired position.

During intubation, it is sometimes difficult to insert the tube into the trachea, for example when the patient has a high BMI, a short neck, small mandible or a small mouth opening and poorly mobile neck. On these occasions, it is desirable to obtain the optimal intubation position for each patient, but every patient is different and unique. With the Operoll, the ideal position can be set for each patient: you can simply inflate or gently deflate the cushion.
Another common application of the Operoll is in the lateral position. You place the Operoll under the armpit or the waist and inflate it during the procedure to reach the surgical goal (e.g. heart of kidney).
This application is commonly known as the Kidneyroll.

    The Washable
    ProTurn® Sheet

    Manufactured from a strong and robust cotton fabric our washable Proturn® sheets are designed to be one-size for all patients up to 178kg. Washable to 74 degrees for 20 washes they have a row of strong handles stitched along one side to which the long Proturn® straps attach in order to turn the patient. An integral pocket on the other side will take one of our Wipeclean Proturn® pads which help to protect arms and lines and prevent entrapment. Use again post operatively and then send to laundry.
