Our X-ray Cassette Insertion Systems reduce handling risks associated with taking mobile x-rays, especially in intensive and critical care units. If your staff still sit patients forward to take x-rays, or need to take x-rays without disturbing patients for specific clinical care, this product may be just what your department needs.
Available in either washable or disposable versions, the whole system is radiolucent and consists of a quilted x-ray cassette cover and an insertion tube. Extension straps can also be added to reduce handing further. All can be purchased independently.
How does it work?
The insertion tube is inserted under the supine patient easily and effortlessly, without having to move the patient in any way regardless of lines or drops. Once in place behind the patient, staff simply slide the ultra soft x-ray cassette cover with the cassette or digital sector inside, through the tube and readjust its position to achieve the image they require. The whole cassette or digital detector can then be slide gently out and the insertion tube removed.
The benefits?
- Patient outcomes are excellent as staff no longer have to log-roll or sit patients forwards to achieve the images they need.
- It is better than x-raying through the bed as the cassette is much closer to the patient and so intensity can be reduced.
- Staff also benefit as their handling risks associated with this procedure are now much safer and easier.
- Staffing requirements can be reduced as the whole procedure requires only two, instead of three members of staff.
