SMARTMOVER™ / WHEELCHAIR POSTURE AID
Hospital Direct’s SmartMover™, a wheelchair posture aid, allows carers to help patients and clients sit comfortably in wheelchairs.
If you hoist people into wheelchairs and find it difficult to help them sit comfortably, the SmartMover™ could be the perfect solution for you. Caregivers can insert this simple but effective wheelchair posture aid – a rollable, durable sheet – beneath a patient to help them sit up without handling them directly. It’s also possible to use the SmartMover™ to help patients sit up in some standard chairs.
For the most part, the SmartMover™ helps single carers who struggle to reposition patients in wheelchairs single-handedly. However, two carers can also use the SmartMover™ to help a patient find a comfortable sitting position. Caregivers can use flaps to adjust pelvic tilt and then insert the sheet to move the patient into the back of their wheelchair. Not only does the handling device uphold patient comfort, but it also reduces the risk of carers injuring themselves while repositioning patients.
The SmartMover™ is ideal for use wherever your patient or client goes, whether they’re at home, out shopping or visiting friends. Once the patient/client is ready, it’s also easy to remove the SmartMover™ without compromising their sitting position.
We manufacture our patient handling equipment in our local Shropshire premises, giving you peace of mind that your medical supplies come from a reputable, UK-based manufacturer.
If you need more advice about the SmartMover™, please get in touch with our Technical Team. We will be delighted to help.
